Full-time, day Position Overview  Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in providing and directing the health care services for all residents. Supervise and direct the work activity of nursing aides with cooperation of the DON.  Essential Job Responsibilities * Coordinate services to meet the health needs of the residents and promote wellness.  * Schedule nursing department team members, providing coverage as needed to fill vacancies. Assume on call assistance to DON and ADON.  * Communicate continuously with DON/ADON to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule. * Train and orient new team members and assist with ongoing training to current team members.  * Monitor, oversee, and administer medications as allowed per state specific guidelines.  * Maintain confidentiality of verbal and written information pertaining to residents, facility operations and personnel. * Respond to resident emergencies, provide assistance, and arrange for appropriate medical attention or follow up.  * Provide activities of daily living assistance to residents as requested.  * Complete required forms in accordance with company policies and state regulations. * Help provide or coordinate educational opportunities related to health issues of interest to the residents and families. (i.e. Alzheimer’s support group) * Document information and changes to resident’s functional status, personal needs, appointments, etc. * Consult with DON & ED regarding recommendations regarding any disciplinary action and dismissal of employees when necessary.  * Assess department for ways to improve and promote quality; immediately report any quality issues to DON or Executive Director.  * Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to billing department, by the designated date each month. * Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and in-services. * Other duties as assigned.  Education, Experience and Other Requirements * Nursing certificate or license within state of operation * 3 years management training or experience  * Basic First Aid Training * Experience in working with older adults * Experience in medication administration and medications  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required * Able to demonstrate a high level of service delivery and ensure customer satisfaction.  * Ability to perform a variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change.  * Able to communicate with others in a warm and helpful manner while simultaneously building credibility and rapport.  * State and Federal Guidelines for Assisted Living * HIPAA requirements * Nursing standards of practice for older adults  * Skills in nurturing, organization, and interest in working with older adults  * Safe food handling procedures * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Preferred Qualifications * Previous experience in senior living * Intermediate knowledge of or willingness and ability to learn the computer programs used in this facility Full-time, day #IND
