Description

Advanced Respiratory Care Network is currently seeking a qualified candidate to complement our great team. We are a very busy Respiratory Clinic that is looking for an experienced Healthcare Administrative Assistant for our Edmonton clinics. This is a full time, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm position, with no evenings or weekends required.
We are looking for an individual who demonstrates a patient-centered approach, excels in public interaction, and possesses exemplary telephone etiquette.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office administrative role.
  • Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Knowledge of EMR
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding procedures.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks & Moneris
    Starting salary is $17.50 per hour depending on experience with reviews and benefits available after the probation period.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Front Desk Operations: Greet patients, answer phone calls, support walk in patients direct incoming phone calls to appropriate department/individual and manage appointments.
Patient Registration: Collect and verify patient information, and insurance details, and assist with the registration process.
Scheduling: Book and confirm appointments for patients.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, insurance information and referrals.
Medical Software: Knowledge of HealthQuest preferred but not required.
Communication: Effective communication with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members to ensure smooth operations. Including faxing reports.
Office Organization: Maintain a clean and organized office environment
Equipment: Clean equipment
Inventory: Ensuring all necessary supplies are stocked
Patient Appointments: Meet with patients to perform diagnostic testing
