JOB SUMMARY

The Healthcare Assistant plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private residences. This position involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care. Caring for and being compassionate to the service users is our main priority.

SKILLS

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care settings is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices
  • Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support
  • First aid certification is an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and their families
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours with patience and understanding
  • Proficient in meal preparation tailored to dietary needs
  • Valid driving licence for transportation duties
    This role requires dedication, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting individuals in need. The Healthcare Assistant will contribute significantly to the overall well-being of clients by delivering high-quality care tailored to their unique requirements. Please note that this position does not come with sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Help with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
  • Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, such as dementia or Alzheimer’s care
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required
