Healthcare Assistant / Care Assistant – Flexible Agency Shifts

Location: Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas

Pay: £12.71–£15.00 per hour

About the Role

Are you an experienced, compassionate Healthcare Assistant or Care Assistant looking for flexible work opportunities?

TEGO Healthcare Ltd is recruiting dedicated Healthcare Assistants and Care Assistants to support healthcare and social care services across Reading, Berkshire, and surrounding areas.

We provide staffing support to care homes, supported living services, community care settings, and other healthcare organisations.

We have immediate shift opportunities available, offering flexibility to choose shifts that suit your schedule. Eligible candidates can begin working promptly once all recruitment and compliance requirements are completed, subject to shift availability.

Areas covered: Reading, Bracknell, Newbury, Slough, Windsor, and surrounding locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
• Assist service users with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities.
• Support medication administration in line with training, competency, and workplace policies.
• Care for individuals with dementia, physical disabilities, mental health conditions, and other support needs.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Follow safeguarding, infection prevention, and health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 6 months' paid UK care experience (mandatory).
• Legal right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to undergo the required checks.
• Mandatory training
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, reliable, and professional approach to care.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

• Care Certificate or NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Previous experience in care homes, supported living, domiciliary care, or community healthcare settings.
