QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Certification of Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent
  • Certificates in First Aid & Food Safe
  • Valid Class V Driver’s License (no restrictions)
  • Recent related experience of one year or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Under the direction of the ADP Coordinator, and in accordance with our clients’ abilities, needs and interests, our staff assist with:

  • Preparation/set-up and clean-up of the Adult Day Program
  • Transportation to and from the Centre (by Centre-owned vehicles)
  • Activities of daily living (social engagement, serving refreshments and lunch)
  • Client’s physical, health, social, and emotional requirements (safety, seated exercises, social engagement, redirection, facilitation of appropriate games and activities to client groups)
  • Leading out in activities i.e.: reading news, exercises, Bingo and games
  • Personal care (toileting and bathing-when applicable

Responsibilities

Our established Adult Day Program takes place in a welcoming, home-like setting offering much needed socializing and entertainment for our clients as well as providing a few hours of respite for their caregivers. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4pm.
