Eden Valley Hospice is a dynamic and responsive specialist care provider for people with palliative and end of life care needs. We have an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic, flexible and committed Healthcare Assistants to join our friendly specialist palliative care team.
Based in Carlisle, we have a 10-bed inpatient unit and children’s hospice, including outreach and wellbeing services and patient and family support.
Our preference would be for the post holder to work various shifts (12 hours) on rotation between days (7.30am-8.00pm) and nights (7.30pm-8.00am).
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and will assist in the delivery of outstanding care. Due to excellent staff to patient ratios, you will have time to care for and build relationships with patients and their families. We also work collaboratively across the county with strong links to other care providers.
The hospice’s vision is to provide excellence in specialist palliative care and to ensure patients receive consistently high standards of care in all care settings within the organisation. There is a culture of reflection, training, supporting and development for all staff, with access to regular clinical supervision and training. Eden Valley Hospice provides a creative and unique environment with many opportunities for personal and professional growth and pay progression. A willingness to advance skills is therefore essential.
Our clinical teams are at the heart of everything we do. We appreciate that, as a charity, we may appear to be a less stable option than other healthcare employers.
Whilst we can never be complacent about the scale of the fundraising challenge that we continually face, the success of our income generation efforts and our prudent approach to managing our resources will ensure that we remain financially secure.
Our teams have a sense a pride working for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw. We are specialists in what we do, and we are respected and valued by our community.
As a small organisation it means we work closely across teams here and ideas for improvement can be adopted and trialled quickly. Our leadership team is visible and approachable, and you will have the chance to influence the work of the hospice.
Our staff survey reflects an employer which values people and a place where their development is encouraged.
We offer some excellent benefits including:
