As a Healthcare Assistant at Wetherby YOI & Adel Beck, you’ll work with vulnerable young people across both sites. Your role will be varied, challenging, and rewarding. HCAs are integral to the team, participating in handovers, supporting health promotion, and sharing a collaborative workspace.

While experience with this client group or in secure settings is desirable, it’s not essential, as a thorough induction will be provided.
This role allows you to use and develop clinical and interpersonal skills while working with some of society’s most vulnerable children (aged 10–18) who face complex circumstances. It’s a chance to provide compassionate care and positively influence young people’s health, well-being, and future choices.
You’ll work closely with prison departments, education, safer custody, and probation, ensuring holistic care. At Adel Beck, services support children aged 10–17 in secure settings due to welfare or justice needs.
HMP Wetherby YOI offers excellent facilities, free parking, staff gyms, and a coffee shop, with easy access to Leeds, Harrogate, and York via the A1(M).
