Healthcare Assistant – Surrey


Location: Surrey

Salary: £16 - £18.50 per hour

Job type: Temporary

Shifts: Days, nights, evenings and weekends available


About the role

We are currently recruiting compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to support individuals across Surrey.

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients and service users in settings such as care homes, supported-living services, residential homes and community-based services.

Key responsibilities

Your duties may include:

  • Supporting individuals with personal care, including washing, dressing and toileting
  • Assisting with mobility, transfers and repositioning
  • Supporting service users with meals, hydration and daily activities
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in a service user’s condition
  • Maintaining accurate care records and daily notes
  • Supporting individuals to remain as independent as possible
  • Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
  • Maintaining dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Working effectively with nurses, care staff, families and other healthcare professionals


Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Previous experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, Care Assistant or Support Worker
  • A caring, patient and respectful approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability, flexibility and good time-management skills
  • A good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and person-centred care
  • The right to work in the UK

A relevant care qualification, such as an NVQ or QCF in Health and Social Care, is desirable but not essential.

Successful applicants will be required to complete the appropriate pre-employment checks, including references and an enhanced DBS check.
