POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Health Care Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting clients in their homes,helping them feel comfortable, safe, and confident. Your care and attention help clients live as independently and with as much dignity as possible. From day-to-day support to being a trusted presence, your work truly makes a difference.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • QQI Level 5 in Care Skills & Care of the Elderly (or currently working towards certification).
  • Previous experience in a similar care role is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Kind, patient, and respectful approach to all clients.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Reliable access to transport (preferred).
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Support clients with mobility, safe transfers, and appropriate use of equipment.
  • Assist with light household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Encourage and help clients stay active and engaged in their daily routines.
  • Observe and report any changes in a client’s health or emotional well-being.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors to ensure top-quality care is delivered.
  • Keep accurate and timely records using our care planner system.
  • Respect client privacy and adhere to Liberty Homecare’s safeguarding guidelines.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to any incidents or emergencies.
  • Build warm, respectful relationships with clients, their families, and the care team.
