Role Description The Healthcare Assistant role at Starry Care is a contract, on-site position based in Milton Keynes. In this role, the Healthcare Assistant supports individuals with daily living activities such as personal care, mobility assistance, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment. The role includes monitoring and reporting changes in service users’ condition, following care plans, and documenting care provided in line with company and regulatory standards. The Healthcare Assistant collaborates with nurses, support workers, and other professionals, promotes dignity and independence, and communicates effectively with service users, families, and colleagues. Responsibilities may also include assisting with basic clinical tasks under supervision, supporting appointments or outings, and adhering to safeguarding and infection control procedures.

  • QualificationsRelevant care skills, including personal care, mobility assistance, and support with daily living activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to follow care plans, document care accurately, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control practices in a care setting.
  • Previous experience in health or social care, ideally in home care, residential, or community settings.
  • Recognized care qualification (e.g., NVQ/QCF Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care) or willingness to work towards one.
  • Reliability, flexibility to work various shifts, and a person-centered, empathetic approach to care.
  • Right to work in the UK; a valid driving license and access to transport in Milton Keynes may be an advantage.
  • Practical Training Experience in Moving and Handling with certificate to show is an added advantage
