Rate: Saturday and Sunday £15 p/h
Shifts: Alternate weekend Nights (19.00 pm to 07.00 am)

We are looking for a unique Paediatric Health Care Assistant within the Weymouth area who can support a young male service user with profound disabilities therefore relies on others 24/7 to meet his needs and keep him safe. Working with the service user will provide opportunities for the carer to gain experience and knowledge within a number of different areas, such as:

  • Suctioning
  • Administering feeds, water and medications via a gastrojejunostomy
  • Identifying and monitoring seizures
  • Recording and interpreting vital signs
  • Administering nebulisers
  • Providing personal and pressure area car
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a unique Paediatric Health Care Assistant within the Weymouth area who can support a young male service user with profound disabilities therefore relies on others 24/7 to meet his needs and keep him safe. Working with the service user will provide opportunities for the carer to gain experience and knowledge within a number of different areas, such as:

  • Suctioning
  • Administering feeds, water and medications via a gastrojejunostomy
  • Identifying and monitoring seizures
  • Recording and interpreting vital signs
  • Administering nebulisers
  • Providing personal and pressure area care

Our service user lives with his foster family in a warm and loving home environment. The successful applicant will partake in shadow shifts alongside a competent member of our service users’ care team until they feel ready to provide care without supervision.
This position is rewarding, person-centred and will equip the carer with a wide range of beneficial skills.
