JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. The Healthcare Assistant will support individuals with their daily activities, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance while promoting their independence and dignity.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
  • A valid driving licence is advantageous for home care roles.
  • Familiarity with IT systems for record keeping and reporting is desirable.
  • A compassionate approach towards patient care, with a commitment to maintaining dignity and respect for all individuals.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as required by the needs of the service.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals in following their care plans and achieving their health goals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Drive to patients’ homes or care facilities as required, ensuring timely arrival for scheduled visits.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare staff.
  • Assist with mobility and physical activities, encouraging patients to engage in exercises as per their care plans.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of patients.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes.
