POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead and oversee all housekeeping operations within our healthcare facility. This leadership role includes supervising the Housekeeping Supervisor and the entire housekeeping team, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Strong management skills and the ability to effectively coordinate multiple teams are essential to this position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.
  • Training in environmental control practices and housekeeping management
  • Demonstrated flexibility with scheduling to meet the demands of the role.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams effectively, with strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and support the Housekeeping Supervisor and all housekeeping staff, ensuring effective staffing and scheduling across residential rooms, offices, and public spaces.
  • Develop, plan, and implement comprehensive cleaning programs, including routine cleaning, annual deep cleans, move-in preparations, and specialty services such as carpet cleaning.
  • Oversee inventory management, maintaining adequate supplies, chemicals, and equipment while controlling costs.
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained in safe chemical handling, adhering strictly to OSHA, EPA, MSDS, and all relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Maintain professional, collaborative relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality regarding proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Enforce company policies, including compliance with harassment prevention and workplace safety procedures.
  • Step in to assist housekeeping staff with cleaning tasks when necessary, demonstrating hands-on leadership.
  • Make sound independent decisions to resolve issues and ensure operational excellence.
