POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role centers on evaluating healthcare program effectiveness, auditing internal controls, and assessing quality standards in alignment with federal legislation (e.g., MISSION Act). The candidate will lead performance audits and provide strategic recommendations to improve care quality and data reliability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Public Health, Health Services, Public Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in healthcare program evaluation or audit.
• Familiarity with federal healthcare legislation and quality standards.Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Conduct performance audits and evaluate internal controls for effectiveness.
• Interview stakeholders to understand program operations and risks.
• Assess the accuracy and reliability of data sources used to measure care quality.
• Evaluate VA and non-VA care against industry benchmarks (e.g., HEDIS, CMS PSIs, CAHPS).
• Review and refine audit methodology and scope in collaboration with VHA SMEs.Develop actionable recommendations for improving data collection and reporting.
