We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative Quality Assurance Engineer to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for our data quality monitoring tools and processes. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our data flows, transformations, and reporting pipelines. The ideal candidate will be the main point of contact for monitoring tools, KPI setup, alert tracking, and root cause analysis, while providing strong, proactive support to our Business Intelligence (BI) team.
This position requires deep technical expertise in relational databases, data warehousing, ETL processes, and SQL debugging, along with strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships across teams and drive continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in software QA, especially in data-centric environments.
  • Expert proficiency in SQL.
  • Strong proficiency Python, XML, and Azure DevOps.
  • Deep understanding of relational databases, SQL Server, Snowflake, ETL pipelines, and data warehouse schemas.
  • Experience with data transformation tracking, monitoring tools, and alert systems.
  • Ability to debug complex SQL code and understand the impact of ETL logic on data quality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead QA efforts for data monitoring tools, including setup of new KPIs, alert systems, and tracking mechanisms.
  • Serve as the primary SME for newly adopted QA and data monitoring tools, supporting two other team members and guiding best practices.
  • Be the main support for the BI team, which delivers dashboards for practices, practitioners, finance, and backend SQL reporting.
  • Monitor and validate data flows, transformations, and ETL processes to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Identify bugs in SQL code and collaborate with developers to resolve data pull and transformation issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on data alerts and anomalies, and document findings for continuous improvement.
  • Recommend enhancements to improve data quality, performance, and user experience.
  • Research and benchmark competitor products and QA methodologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and technologies in QA and data engineering.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested.
