POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) / Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional service in a professional and compassionate manner. This role is primarily responsible for managing a high volume of incoming calls and supporting front desk operations in a fast-paced medical office environment. The PSR ensures efficient appointment scheduling, accurate patient records, and smooth communication between patients, providers, and clinical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Have EPIC experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical office or high-volume call center.
Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR) and insurance verification strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred (may be obtained after hire).

Answer and triage incoming calls using a multi-line phone system with a focus on professionalism and service excellence.
Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments in alignment with provider availability.
Greet patients in person, verify insurance and identification, and update demographic and payer information in the electronic health record (EHR).
Accurately document patient interactions and call outcomes in the EHR.
Respond to voicemail messages and patient inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
Coordinate communication between patients, clinical staff, and administrative teams.
Assist with front desk duties including check-in/check-out, scanning documents, and preparing patient paperwork.
Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
Support additional administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.
