$15.70 – $20.50/hour (based on experience)
Full-Time & Part-Time | Rotational 12-Hour Shifts (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C (CSA-approved provider)
  • Eligible for a Nova Scotia Security License
  • Willingness to complete Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training
  • Paladin covers training costs with a 6-month role commitment
  • Strong English communication skills (oral & written)
  • Ability to work rotational 12-hour shifts
  • Reliable transportation to South Shore Regional Hospital and Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a Healthcare Security Officer, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and respectful hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES::

  • Patrol hospital grounds including hallways, parking lots, patient areas, and entrances.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report suspicious activity.
  • Control access to restricted hospital zones.
  • Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, or disruptive individuals.
  • Assist and direct visitors, ensuring hospital policies are followed.
  • De-escalate conflicts calmly and professionally.
  • Complete incident and daily activity reports with accuracy.
  • Work in partnership with hospital staff and local law enforcement.
  • Support enforcement of hospital safety and visitor protocols.
