A wonderful opportunity has become available for a Healthcare support worker to develop their expertise in a specialist Eating Disorder Service, which forms part of CNWL NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a friendly, motivated individual who is committed to providing person centred care to patients with eating disorders.
Experience of working with Eating Disorders is desirable but not essential for this post.
You will work within the MDT in developing and implementing care for patients, you will receive support from your Supervisor and Ward Manager to help you develop your PDP. The service is constantly evolving and therefore genuine opportunities for professional development.
The team are well established, dynamic, with a strong commitment to multidisciplinary working, service development and continued professional development.
By following care plans, provide day-to-day care to a designated group of
patients with direction and supervision from qualified nursing staff.
To be fully aware of the individual needs of patients including their presence on the Unit, during the span of duty.
To carry out basic housekeeping duties and hands on work as directed by the Nurse-In-Charge.
Record and document as required (and after appropriate training)
physical observations, such as weight, temperature, pulse and
respiration and blood pressure. To report to the Nurse-In-Charge any
significant findings.
Complete Venepuncture as required (and after appropriate training).
Provide meal support and post meal support to the patients.

Work only under the direction and supervision of trained Nursing staff.
Act as Allocated worker, observe and interact with patients and document as required in the patients notes.
Recognise and respect the patients as individuals with the same rights, needs and emotions as everyone else. Promote the dignity and esteem of patients at all times.
To act in a manner to raise standards of care and make the service culturally sensitive, relevant and accessible to meet the needs of the patients.
Ensure patients make informed decisions whenever possible based open and honest dialogue with the patient and their carer, and ensure patient’s choices are respected where possible.
Assist qualified staff in the assessment of patients’ needs and the implementation of individual plans of care
