This is a remote position. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, includes 1-hour unpaid break | Alberta, Canada (Mountain Time) Paid hours per week: 40 Hours Responsibilities: Take incoming calls and handle all phone communication with families, staff, and healthcare providers Confirm and coordinate scheduling between patients, nurses, and internal staff Review and process insurance documents and patient paperwork Update and maintain patient records in internal systems Handle urgent calls from families requesting immediate nursing support Perform administrative and back-end tasks to support daily operations Manage communication between different departments (nursing, therapy, administration) Return calls and send SMS communications as needed Support busy periods when demand for services increases Requirements Healthcare background and customer service experience required Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to speak Tagalog fluently (due to Filipino staff and client base) HIPAA compliance knowledge or willingness to learn Experience with patient records and healthcare documentation Ability to work Canadian time zones (night shift in the Philippines) Comfortable with technology and learning new systems Professional phone manner and empathetic communication style Attention to detail for government-required documentation Scope: Full-time (40 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week minimum) options available Remote work from the Philippines with Canadian time zone alignment Integration with existing email systems, CRM, and internal healthcare platforms Phone system setup with a virtual dialer for a local Canadian presence Support for an organization serving 100+ children across Edmonton and Calgary Potential for role expansion and additional virtual assistant hiring Month-to-month employment arrangement with a 90-day probation period Access to all necessary hardware, software, and internet connectivity is provided Benefits Independent Contractor Perks HMO Coverage for eligible locations Permanent work from home Immediate hiring ZR_28722_JOB
