2x Part-time (0.2 FTE), 12-month fixed-term opportunity with the Kolling Institute Make a real difference in women’s health while gaining valuable clinical trial knowledge in a supportive and collaborative research environment Base Salary $103,185 - $111,237 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation About the opportunity Join the Kolling Institute as a part-time Healthy Lifestyle Facilitator and play a key role in an exciting clinical trial focused on the prevention of osteoarthritis through diet and exercise. You will deliver tailored exercise and weight management sessions for women over 50 experiencing issues with weight, working alongside an experienced clinical team and receiving training and support from both local and international colleagues. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research, help participants achieve positive health outcomes, and develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. These positions will work across 2 main sites for the exercise classes and dietary sessions. You will have the opportunity to work across these sites during the trial. The days and locations will be as follows: Position 1: Monday and Wednesday 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM in Parramatta Square (PHIVE Building) Position 2: Tuesday and Thursday 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM in Royal North Shore Hospital If possible, this position would rotate approx. 1 day per month to a community centre in Haberfield Classes will run between 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM (with 30-minutes prior for preparation and 30-minutes following for packing and cleaning). Training for the position will include in-person sessions at RNSH, as well as training via Zoom and online modules. Your key responsibilities will be to: Deliver group exercise sessions in line with the study protocol, ensuring participant safety and engagement through clear instruction and appropriate progression or regression. Conduct group and individual weight management classes following established program materials, fostering a supportive and encouraging environment. Provide advice and support in dietary maintenance. Prepare and maintain session facilities, equipment, and materials, ensuring all classes are set up and packed down efficiently. Monitor participant’s wellbeing, accurately record attendance, and report any health or safety concerns to the trial team. Participate in ongoing team meetings, training, and professional development activities to support trial consistency and quality. About you Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sports Science, Exercise Physiology, or Physiotherapy, with certification in First Aid and CPR. Practical experience in supporting lifestyle or health programs, particularly with older adults, with a focus on exercise and wellbeing. Demonstrated experience delivering exercise classes, including adapting programs to suit participant needs and ensuring safety. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical research team and exercise class environment. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. Knowledge of clinical trial requirements, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, ethical approvals, and regulatory processes (desirable).
