JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to our Operations Director, we’re seeking a skilled and dedicated HIU Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be proficient in the maintenance, and repair of HIUs and metering systems, including Secure and Guru. This is a practical role which requires a candidate who can think on their feet, interact well with customers, and effectively work on both mechanical and electrical HIUs.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • Demonstrable plumbing experience and experience in HIU servicing, fault finding, repairs and maintenance.
  • Customer service orientated with excellent customer communication skills, including the ability to handle difficult conversations confidently and with diplomacy. Previous experience working in occupied properties is essential.
  • Team player
  • Knowledge of district heating
  • Experience with metering system installation, troubleshooting and maintenance, including Guru and Secure
  • Part P electrical qualification
  • Full UK driving license
  • Excellent technical knowledge and a keen interest in learning about new technologies and equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft software and learn new software
  • Time management skills are vital, as is a degree of flexibility and the ability to deal with any last-minute problems that may arise.
  • Self-starter, driven by success and able to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • HIU servicing, fault finding, repairs and maintenance, including minor electrical repairs within the HIU.
  • Install, replace and commissioning heat meters.
  • Install, commission, and repair PAYG hardware, including Secure and Guru.
  • MVHR servicing and repairs.
  • Attend callouts when required, including out of hours on a rota.
  • Heat network fault finding with a focus on ensuring reliability and optimal system efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers regarding their heating needs.
