Job Description Job Description This position will provide solutions for water source and geothermal heat pump designs for products ranging from 0.5 to 60 tons of cooling. The selected candidate will work both with project teams and independently to produce designs for HVAC systems based upon laboratory safety standards, building codes, and current market demands. Duties & Responsibilities: Assigned development projects or complex engineering assignments Perform HVAC system design evaluations and provide system solutions Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors into system designs Provide strong technical input and a high level of accountability in engineering projects Create, conduct, and support test plans for unit rating, performance, and reliability testing. Support product design, bill of materials, modeling, and final assembly development. Lead and support specification, selection, and qualification of materials and components Support engineering team associates, manufacturing and operations, and material sourcing. Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives. Lead and support root cause analysis & problem solving implementation from start to finish. Assist in the development of department standards and procedures Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heat pump engineering or related HVAC field Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, particularly heat pump technologies Proficiency in CAD software for system design and modeling Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail Excellent project management abilities and experience In-depth understanding of energy efficiency standards and regulations Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and their integration with heat pump systems Strong technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and team members Willingness to travel locally for site visits and installations Additional Information Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred HVAC certifications (e.g., NATE, ASHRAE) highly desirable All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
