CTS People are recruiting on behalf of our valued client, 10 Four Trucks, a well-established and family-friendly heavy vehicle workshop based in Blacktown, NSW. Specialising in the repair and maintenance of heavy diesel trucks and trailers, particularly float trailers, 10 Four Trucks are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join their team and contribute to their reputation for high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy diesel trucks, trailers, and float trailers
  • Conduct routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and inspections
  • Perform major repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • Carry out RMS safety inspections and compliance checks (if licensed)
  • Complete minor welding and fabrication tasks where required
  • Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Maintain accurate job records in the workshop management system
  • Collaborate with team members, supporting apprentices and sharing technical knowledge

Skills & Experience

  • Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-trade experience working on heavy trucks and trailers
  • Strong diagnostic skills across diesel engines, transmissions, braking, and suspension systems
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (float trailer knowledge highly regarded)
  • Proficiency in electrical diagnostics and repairs
  • Welding and fabrication skills desirable
  • Current manual driver’s licence (HR preferred)
  • Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
