Gills Point S is seeking a skilled and dependable Heavy Diesel/Truck Mechanic to join our team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel trucks, vehicles and equipment. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks and equipment Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, inspections, and preventative service Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards Maintain accurate service records and documentation Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding repair status and timelines Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations Requirements Qualifications 3+ years of experience working on heavy diesel equipment (trucks, trailers, or construction equipment) Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills Experience with diagnostic software and tools preferred Valid driver’s license required (CDL is a plus) Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work Ability to work independently and as part of a team What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Stable, full-time schedule Paid time off and holidays Medical, dental, and vision benefits Ongoing training and development opportunities Opportunity to grow your career with a respected, regional company
