We are currently seeking an experienced Journeyperson Mechanic to join our operation in Saskatoon. SOUTHLAND is currently offering a $1,000 hiring bonus for Journeyperson Mechanics. This will be paid out following six months of continuous employment. Why You Should Choose SOUTHLAND * Competitive wages (Journeyperson - $40.00 - $43.00) * Benefits package * Monday through Friday day shift * Rewarding and positive work environment * Ongoing training and development * Opportunity for advancement * Employee recognition programs * Annual tool and boot allowance (pro-rated from start date - available in the last quarter of the year and each subsequent year) Key Responsibilities * Ongoing maintenance/repair of buses * Respond to breakdowns * Work with shop management to maintain schedules and priorities * Perform semi-annual Government Inspections * Complete all documentation associated with mechanical repairs of equipment * Supervision of apprentice mechanics * Suggest areas for additional training and assist with training of apprentice mechanics Requirements * Journeyperson Ticket - Heavy Duty Mechanic * 2 – 5 years of related experience desired * Valid driver’s license (Class 2 or 3 ideal) * Safety Inspection Certification through SGI desired * Experience working with Prevost coaches considered an asset * Analytical and troubleshooting skills * Computer proficiency * Own hand tools #ZRHP

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing maintenance and repairs on buses while supervising apprentice mechanics. Ensure all mechanical documentation is completed and assist with training initiatives.
