POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently looking for a knowledgeable and skilled Pump Mechanic. The Pump Mechanic is primarily responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fleet of pumps equipment’s, including concrete trucks, pick-up trucks, and off-road equipment.
Payrate: $40-44/hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience performing maintenance on concrete pumps (Schwing & Putzmeister).
  • Valid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract.
  • Class 3 or 1 drivers license is preferred.
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic strongly preferred, a non-ticketed Pump Mechanic with the relevant experience may be considered at a lower rate.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the lead hand HETs and apprentices to trouble shoot mechanical issues with concrete line pump trucks
  • Mentor or teach apprentices on how to preform maintenance and repairs on concrete pump trucks.
  • Perform CVIP inspections for mixer and pump trucks on an annual basis in accordance with provincial transportation regulations.
  • Performing routine maintenance and repairs on mixer trucks and pump trucks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, HVAC, hydraulic, drivetrain, steering, transmission, emission, and electrical components on pump and mixer trucks.
  • Perform service calls off-site when required.
  • Communicate effectively with other technicians, drivers, supervisors, and other staff regarding repair timelines.
  • Record repairs completed on each unit including parts replaced and labour hours, updating work orders as required.
  • Collaborate with the Parts and Service Writer Teams to ensure parts are ordered and workorders stay up to date.
  • Participate in company safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
