Job Description Maintenance Technician General Job Description: We are a medium sized over the road trucking company that runs heavy haul, multi axle and extendable trailers to transport heavy equipment, oilfield equipment, compressors, drill rigs, generators, buildings, etc. We are looking to add a maintenance mechanic to our team. This person will track routine and preventative maintenance for our fleet of trucks and trailers and complete repairs and maintenance tasks in the shop. This position will include some welding and fabrication as well as mechanical work on diesel engines, semi-trucks and trailers as well as wiring trailers for lighting. Detailed Description: Routine Maintenance Tracking: This position includes a fleet management view of the company’s equipment, Keeping a detailed list of the maintenance status of all truck, trailer, jeep and booster equipment and what is upcoming for each piece of equipment. Track oil changes and other monthly or mileage required maintenance. Communicate with drivers about required maintenance and tire replacement Communicate with repair shops on the road. Repairs and Maintenance: Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately. Schedules repairs and maintenance at a shop on the road or the equipment to get into the shop for work to be completed. Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade. Conducting routine maintenance work aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity. Changing tires, brakes, performing Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting wiring & a/c systems on 18 wheelers Welding: Must have some welding and fabrication experience. Best if experience has been on equipment, trucks and/or semi-trailers. On-Call Maintain and answer the company cell phone during your on-call hours. Pay for items such as Tires/Repairs, maintenance, hotels etc as approved by the office. Direct driver issues, load issues breakdowns to management as scheduled. Job Requirements: 2 Years Mechanical Experience with 18 wheelers 1 Year heavy machine mechanic, semi-truck, semi-trailer repair or similar. 1 Year Welding Advanced knowledge of diesel engines Submit to and pass a drug test. Location: This position is located in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The candidate will need to reside in Rock Springs, Green River or surrounding areas or relocate to the area. Salary Range $17.00 - $25.00 per hour dependent on experience
