Description

HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC

Journeyman or Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic. We will accept a Journeyman with the proper prior experience. We are a family orientated company with benefits and long term employees and an updated repair facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing service, CVIPs and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.
Typical Repairs: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of pickers, commercial transport truck and trailer systems including; chassis, frame, cab, body, engine, drive train, fuel, air brakes, steering, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems as well as repair to other equipment as necessary when directed by the shop supervisor. Knowledge of boom trucks is an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Apprenticeship
Pay: Wage based on experience
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week, some after hours call outs required

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid safety certifications – Standard First Aid & H2S.
  • Good vision, hearing, and sense of smell, as well as physical strength & stamina.
  • The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Ability to pass standard pre-employment testing including: fit for duty testing, drug & alcohol screening, audiogram, and mask fit.
  • Basic computer skills.
