JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking local skilled Heavy Equipment Field Technicians who has extensive experience working on pipelayers, dozers and excavators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and ensuring their proper functionality and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic (Off-Road) Certification is require
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a HD Field Mechanic position
  • Mining background is highly preferred
  • Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
  • Class 5 driver’s license / clean driver’s abstract needed
  • Possesses excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills and abilities able to develop solutions quickly
  • Ability to operate computer-based maintenance troubleshooting software such as: CAT E.T., CAT SIS, Cummins Insite, Service Advisor, etc.

OPEN-PIT MINING / CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE ON SOME OF THE FOLLOWING

  • Pipelayers
  • Dozers: Cat D6-D9
  • Excavators 15T-70T

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES

  • Check pipelayes, dozers, excavators and other construction equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as blades, winches and side booms

ATI CANADA SPECIFIC HD MECHANIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment
  • Operate computer-based software for troubleshooting
  • Acknowledge and adhere to all safety standards as outlined by ATI Canada and the client
  • Complete paperwork, reports, and inspections accurately, keep them current and organized
  • Maintain positive interactions with co-workers, clients, supervisors, treating everyone with respect
  • Record daily vehicle mileage logs and pre-trip inspections for all equipment
  • Complete and submit daily timesheets in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintain provided tooling in good condition.
  • Maintain a high level of respect and cleanliness for service and Company trucks
  • Operate company vehicles in strict accordance with traffic/site rules and weather conditions
  • Operate a company vehicle only if you are an approved driver
  • Any other duty as directed by Manager
  • Assist management in challenging and improving the health and safety program to meet the ever-changing needs of the work site.
  • Will carry out work in a manner so as not to create a hazard for themselves, their fellow workers, management, supervisors, or anyone on site.
  • Shall not operate any equipment that they have not received proper training
  • Will assist site management by sharing expertise when asked and by working to help create a safe workplace.
