JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment. This role requires proficiency in working with both diesel engines and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.

EXPERIENCE

  • Have 3-5 years experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment, tractor-trailer maintenance, and vehicle maintenance practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Experience in welding and fabrication would be an asset.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for equipment repair tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, semi trucks, and dump trucks.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs and fabrication tasks.
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Repair and maintain various systems including transmissions, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC, shocks & struts, brake systems, and electrical components.
  • Assemble and disassemble equipment as necessary for repairs or upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed on vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety protocols and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors to prioritize maintenance schedules
