REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman Mechanic
  • Experience working on Caterpillar, Deutz, and Waukesha heavy equipment
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, specifically generators
  • Experience ordering necessary parts to repair and maintain machines and generators
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Experienced and skills in the maintenance and operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of generators and other equipment
  • Organized and detailed in record keeping and report writing
  • Self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Able to work within a team environment
  • Professional when working with clients
  • Working out of town on remote sites in and around Alberta and working weekends may be required

    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
    Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty mobile and stationary equipment, specifically, but not limited to, power generators
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions of heavy-duty equipment and generators
  • Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain heavy-duty equipment and generators
  • Order parts and perform equipment repairs and replacement of defective parts as needed
  • Test repaired equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and assist with general cleaning duties in the shop
  • Maintain daily record of work tasks performed and maintain workshop inventory
  • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes
