Description

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES

-Performs repairs and services on various types of material handling equipment and its components including heavy duty forklifts, yard tractors, container handlers & other mobile material handling equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance at prescribed intervals of time and repairs on various types of material handling equipment including heavy duty forklifts, yard tractors, container handlers.
- Sound knowledge of utilizing electronic manuals, use of digital voltage meters and
applicable diagnostic software for repairing/servicing of material handling equipment
- Sound knowledge of electrical and hydraulic diagnostics
- Uses instruction manuals, wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics to diagnose
components and system failures.
- Ensures work performed is verified and the truck returned to the customer clean and
operational.
- Ensures customer work area is clean and free of debris, oil, and grease.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Be able to self-manage administration duties, and documentation of work performed.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE

College diploma and/or completion of a trade school certification or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years’ experience as an auto, forklift, heavy equipment or truck and coach mechanic. A valid driver’s license is required.

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems of battery and
    Internal Combustion powered material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical/hydraulics and electronic/ hydraulic principles.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements and
    hydraulic diagnostic equipment.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment.
