Benefits: 401(k) Bonus based on performance Health insurance Supporting a local transportation company, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will diagnose and repair diesel and Class A vehicles, focusing on engines, hydraulics, and transmissions. This role is Monday-Friday during normal business hours. There may be potential for a part-time option. Saturdays are optional and availability will be dependent upon business needs. Responsibilities Diagnose, inspect, service, and perform maintenance on heavy-duty trucks. Perform preventative maintenance, inspecting for road-worthiness and safety issues. Road test vehicles for diagnostics. Work with diesel engines, hydraulic equipment, etc. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to turbos, injectors, and radiators. Research and order parts with appropriate approvals. Perform maintenance on trailers, as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Report damages or faulty equipment to management. Additional tasks as needed. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent. 2+ years' experience working with heavy duty vehicles is required. A Commercial Inspection license is required. Cummins knowledge and welding experience is preferred. A clean driving record with no more than 3 Motor Vehicle Record infractions within the last 3 years. Maintain excellent communication skills & be able to work independently. Ability to work overtime if required.
