HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC/TRUCK TRANSPORT MECHANIC

About Us: The Whiteout Group Inc. is a dynamic construction company specializing in asphalt and concrete work during the summer, street and parking lot sweeping in the spring, and snow removal services during the winter. We operate a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment, ranging from passenger trucks to heavy machinery like loaders and excavators. We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Truck Transport Mechanic to join our team and ensure that our fleet is ready to tackle any challenge, year-round.
Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced and resourceful Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Truck Transport Mechanic to perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting on a wide variety of vehicles and heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the field, with the ability to solve complex mechanical problems, perform fabrications, and work efficiently to minimize downtime. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Truck Transport Mechanic or related field.
  • Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic certification is an asset but not required.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with a wide range of heavy equipment and vehicles, including loaders, excavators, trucks, and more.
  • Ability to fabricate and make parts to keep equipment operational.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

WAGE WILL BE BASED ON SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a range of equipment, including passenger trucks, loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues in a variety of vehicles and equipment.
  • Fabricate and modify parts as necessary to ensure equipment functions at peak performance.
  • Work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime, especially during high-demand seasons.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed while working on equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
  • Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns, providing solutions and repairs in a timely manner.
  • May be required to work over nights based on operational requirements and occasionally be on call.
