The Caravan Group is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Truck (Trailer) Mechanic Apprentice - Level 2 or 3, to assist with fleet maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of various trailers. We offer an excellent hourly wage, competitive benefits, and a guaranteed 40 hours/week. Dayshift, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
REQUIREMENTS
· Registered Apprentice (HET - Truck and Transport Mechanic), Level 2 or 3
· 2 to 3 years’ experience, preferably as trailer technician.
· Interpersonal Skills (working effectively with others)
· Problem-solving & critical thinking skills
· Safety Conscious
· PC literate & ability to work on a tablet
· Self-motivated, with proven ability to work unsupervised within a team environment

Our Fleet mainly consists of Volvo VNL and VNR’s, dry and reefer trailers. As a Heavy-Duty Truck (Trailer) Mechanic Apprentice, level 2 or 3, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Inspect and test mechanical units, such as axles, and brake systems, to locate faults and malfunctions.
· Ability to diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with licensed mechanic to determine whether to repair or replace the unit.
· Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hands and power tools, test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance.
· Complete work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to record work performed.
· Use and understand work order history to identify possible work required which will proactively minimize unit downtime.
· Perform Preventative maintenance and pre-trip units.
