Description

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience as an AC Technician, specifically working on heavy equipment.
  • Specific, hands-on experience with RS and ECH forklifts is a significant advantage.
  • Strong electrical diagnostic skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in using HVAC diagnostic equipment and hand/power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A valid driver’s license is required; a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload efficiently.
  • Must be physically capable of working in various conditions (heights, tight spaces) and lifting heavy objects.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We are looking for a certified and proficient AC Technician who specializes in heavy-duty mobile HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning and heating systems in a wide range of heavy equipment. Your expertise will be crucial in minimizing downtime and ensuring the reliability and comfort of our fleet.
Electrical Experience is plus

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical faults in heavy vehicle HVAC systems using diagnostic software, multimeters, gauges, and other tools.
  • Perform repairs and complete overhauls on AC system components, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, receivers/driers, expansion valves, and lines.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance, including system inspections, performance testing, and recharging refrigerants (R134a, R1234yf).
  • Service and repair HVAC systems on our specific fleet, including:
  • RS, ECH, Forklifts (3-ton, 5-ton, 10-ton, 15-ton, 16-ton capacities)
  • Heavy-Duty Trucks and Tractors
  • Heavy Trailers (Reefers & Cab-equipped trailers)
  • Identify and repair electrical issues related to HVAC controls, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
  • Follow all EPA and company guidelines for the safe handling and recovery of refrigerants.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time taken on each job order.
  • Communicate effectively with the maintenance manager and fleet operators regarding repair status and recommendations.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
