Required Qualifications: Non-Union position. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical. Minimum 3 years’ experience maintaining/servicing heavy equipment. Possess a clean and valid Class B driver’s license, current print out required. Works with Equipment Superintendent or Lead man in a timely manner. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. unassisted. Conduct a complete pre-and post-shift safety inspection. Report unsafe conditions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the lead person or Manager. Communicate with the project manager and equipment supervisor on all safety and maintenance needs. Knowledge of truck air brake systems and ability to diagnose and repair problems. Ability to read, understand and apply all schematics, drawings, technical applications and logic. Experience on Cat 745 Articulating preferred but not required. Welding experience. Hydraulic & electrical experience. Mid-level diagnostic ability. Ability to perform repairs on components and attachments such cutting edges and tooth replacement. Engine certifications a plus. Cat ET knowledge a plus. MSHA Cert preferred but not required. Must be detail oriented. Ability to multi-task. Responsibilities
The mechanic is responsible for maintaining and servicing heavy equipment, including conducting complete pre- and post-shift safety inspections and reporting any unsafe conditions immediately. They must also communicate all safety and maintenance needs to the project manager and equipment supervisor.
