Description Job Summary The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, and maintaining heavy machinery issues. Perform preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and replace or repair damaged parts, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Duties and Responsibilities Work with customers to understand their concerns and properly diagnose the issue. Produce accurate and itemized work and estimates for customers who request them. Spend time explaining the vehicle repair needs to each customer so that they understand what repairs are needed. Utilize the latest in diagnostic equipment to accurately pinpoint vehicle issues. Conduct vehicle inspections (DOT) in house as well as for customers. Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean working area. Required Skills and Abilities Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service. Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment systems, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc. Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in the use of common mechanic shop tools Knowledge of automotive troubleshooting and diagnostics Ability to make decisions regarding the management, maintenance, and repairs of all vehicles. Must have own tools Physical Requirements Be willing to be exposed to dirt, grease, dust, noise and other elements Ability to bend, move, lift (up to 80lbs) and physically perform duties in the scope of this position Ability to climb equipment steps and ladders Stand 8 to 12 hours a day Devote drive time as necessary to meet on site requirements Qualifications Minimum of two years’ experience in related field ASE Certification preferred or willingness to obtain Valid and clean driver’s license Drug Free Workplace, Equal Opportunity Employer
