ABOUT US:

Ottawa Equipment Mechanics LTD (www.ottawaequipmentmechanics.ca) is a growing business, focusing on on-site mobile heavy equipment service and maintenance throughout the Ottawa Valley. We are looking for an experienced full-time licensed service technician to operate our mobile mechanic truck (2022 Ford F550 with a Stellar Service Body installed with Crane) and perform mechanical repair and servicing on construction, medium/heavy duty and agricultural equipment for our clients year-round.

REQUIREMENTS:

· 310T mechanic license is considered an asset or 310S license acceptable. Apprentices welcome to apply
· A valid Heavy Equipment Technician Licence with a minimum of 5 year’s experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field
· Past experience as a mobile on-site mechanic
· Prior crane experience is an asset
· Have a wide understanding of mechanics, in both medium and heavy-duty construction equipment and agricultural equipment
· Past experience driving and operating a mobile mechanic truck (2022 F550 with a Stellar service body is the company’s vehicle)
· Possess a valid G driver’s license and a clean driving abstract
· Proven mechanical abilities in equipment repairs
· Experience with routine maintenance operations
· Highly flexible, with great interpersonal skills
· Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
· Able to work well under pressure and in a diverse environment
· Excellent time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
· Availability to work a flexible schedule, providing on-call mechanic support during the day, evenings, weekends and/or holidays year round
· Strong attention to detail
· Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
· Personal set of working tools required
· Experience with Cat SIS is an asset.

COMPENSATION:

· Competitive wage range between $45.00-$50.00 per hour, dependent on experience
· Medical, Dental and Vision benefits package after the first 3 months
· Full time company work vehicle

Responsibilities

· Provide equipment troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs
· Adjust, overhaul, repair and reassemble a wide range of equipment from small to large within the field
· Test, diagnose and repair variety of equipment from small to large within the field
· Working with commercial equipment and machinery of varying size from small to large within the field
· Troubleshooting and repairing of heavy duty and medium duty equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, back hoe, forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, etc of all sizes
· Diagnosing a number of equipment problems; identifying and replacing worn or broken parts as required, and making all necessary adjustments and alignments
· Troubleshooting systems – example: hydraulic, electrical & mechanical of all equipment and determine faults and extent of repair.
· Welding and fabrication work as required
· Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate
· Monitor parts usage, parts ordering and reporting of any material or inventory issues
· Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies
· Completion of work orders and timecards in a timely and efficient manner
· Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance
· Cleaning, lubricating and other maintenance work as required
· Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
· Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques
· Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to occupational health and safety regulations
· Assist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules
· Perform in an environment with minimal supervision
· Must respond to incoming calls with dispatch or with potential customers to address needs and schedule service appointments as needed, day and night
