HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR 📍 Location: Broken Bow, Oklahoma 📅 Schedule: Full-Time | Hourly | M–F on 1st Shift (7AM-3PM) — With overtime as needed 💲 Base Pay: $20.60/hour (after training) ---------------------------------------- Bell Lumber & Pole Co. is seeking a safety-conscious, reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to support operations by safely handling raw materials and finished products in a dynamic outdoor environment. ---------------------------------------- JOB PURPOSE As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you’ll be responsible for the safe handling and movement of utility poles and materials across our site. You'll operate front-end loaders and related equipment, ensure loads are secure, and contribute to a clean, organized yard. Your responsibilities will include: * Operating heavy equipment to load and unload utility poles from trucks, trams, and railcars (Front-end Loaders, Knucklebooms, etc.) * Performing pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability * Following work orders and loading poles with accuracy and attention to detail * Maintaining equipment cleanliness, fueling, and reporting any issues * Communicating clearly with yard staff, drivers, and supervisors * Monitoring load balance and securing materials to prevent damage * Adhering to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE * Assisting with general yard duties as needed * Understand OSHA safety rules and work in compliance with the Bell Timber safety standards, policies, and procedures. * Identify and report any and all unsafe working conditions. * Ability to read and understand equipment startup procedures, operation procedures, shutdown procedures, and maintenance manuals. * Perform all work in compliance with company standards and procedures. ---------------------------------------- QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE * High school diploma or equivalent required * One-year technical certificate OR 3–6 months of related experience preferred * Prior experience with heavy equipment operation and maintenance is strongly desired SKILLS & COMPETENCIES * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures * Clear communication with coworkers, supervisors, and drivers * Proficiency with heavy machinery and safe handling techniques * Ability to identify unsafe conditions and follow Bell’s safety standards * Team player who can adapt to changing conditions and priorities * Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines * Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs ---------------------------------------- BELL LUMBER & POLE COMPANY With a family legacy spanning over 115 years, Bell Lumber & Pole Co. and its businesses (Bell Timber Inc., Bell Structural Systems, Alamco Wood Products) have established a reputation for excellence.
