Job Description As a Heavy Equipment Operator, this position requires strong operation skills, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Your primary responsibility will be to operate a crane while supporting the overall operations. What you're responsible for: Safely operate heavy equipment to lift, move, and position metal materials. Using attachments (magnets, grapples) to transport materials and place them in designated areas or processing equipment. Operating skid steers, mobile cranes, excavators, and other assigned equipment. Loading and unload trucks/containers while ensuring secure, balanced loads. Performing equipment inspections and basic maintenance before and after use. Supporting yard operations by handling general maintenance, assisting the rail team, and completing cleanup duties during downtime. Qualifications To join our team: You have operator certification and/or proven equipment‑operator experience. You have at least 1 year of heavy industrial equipment‑operation experience. You have strong attention to detail and can accurately position and handle metal materials. You have a solid understanding of safety protocols for crane operation and material handling. You are comfortable using crane attachments such as magnets and grapples. You are able to work outdoors in a heavy industrial environment, with familiarity in metal‑recycling processes being a plus.
