JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment, including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of construction projects and requires a strong mechanical knowledge as well as a commitment to safety and efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is preferred.
  • Experience with farm machinery is a plus.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 2 years experience operating heavy equipment in a civil construction environment
  • Must be physically capable of working outdoors in all weather
  • Valid driver’s license required (Class 5 minimum)
  • CSTS-2020, Ground Disturbance, and WHMIS are strong assets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must live in the Calgary area and have reliable transportation
Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and cranes in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete construction tasks effectively and on schedule.
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery on-site.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of materials using appropriate machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance activities.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding project progress and equipment status.
