The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator for its construction project in Kelowna/BC

Reporting to the foreman, our Heavy Equipment Operator must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment.
  • Valid operator certification and driver’s license.
  • Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans and markings.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and team collaboration.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 8-10 hours/day working in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and use proper lifting techniques for heavy items weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to climb scaffoldings.

Responsibilities

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and compactors.
  • Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure safe operation.
  • Follow site plans, markings, and instructions to carry out tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and site crew to ensure smooth and timely project execution.
  • Comply with all safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or site hazards to the supervisor immediately.
  • Support the growth and development of company culture.
  • Perform other duties as required.
