Description

An asset if you are familiar in operating various pieces of heavy equipment relevant to the construction industries, including but not limited to: excavator, dozer, compactors and skid steer. Experience a must in residential and commercial builds.
We want YOU on OUR Team. Dig It Contracting is a dynamic, growth-orientated excavation company looking for select people to join the team. We are currently looking for heavy equipment operators. At Dig It Contracting safety is priority one. Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment relevant to the construction and forestry industries, including but not limiting: excavator, dozer, compactors and skid steer. Be able to take instruction, work independently or as part of a team. Must be willing and able to assist with ground work. REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid unrestricted drivers license, WHIMIS, PPE
  • Experience with civil infrastructure and/or forestry operations
  • Ability to read and interpret plans
  • Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Drug and Alcohol testing, as required
  • Operate 2-way radio

    Pay: $29.40-$36.75 per hour
    Expected hours: 50 per week

Responsibilities
  • Confidently operate equipment to a finish grade accuracy
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
  • Responsible for conducting pre-operational checks on equipment
  • Communicate the need for material and equipment for job, as necessary
  • Report any required or preventative maintenance to supervisor or shop foreman
  • Be able to identify hazards on site
  • Sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance and ability to work in and implement safe operating practices and contribute to a safe work environment
  • Record and maintain daily records
  • Ensure site cleanliness is maintained
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving
  • Fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, excavating, stockpiling, loading
