Description
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to work on an active jobsite in the Muskogee area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underground utilities and be proficient operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently to ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment -- including excavators, loaders, and bulldozers -- to move materials and complete utility tasks Assist crews with setting grade, trench safety, and utility layout Ensure that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs as needed Communicate regularly with other crew members, foremen, and subcontractors Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures at all times Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent 3+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction Previous utility construction experience (water, sanitary, sewer, storm) required Understanding of trench safety, digging around utilities, and safe operating practices Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Reliable transportation to the Muskogee jobsite Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
