Equipment Operator
Duties:
-Should be physically fit- Operate and maintain various types of equipment, primarily excavator in addition to backhoe and dozer in a more limited capacity
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Cut accurate slopes, safely dig around underground utilities, cut grade for pipework and backfill, dig for building foundations
- Load and unload materials from trucks
- Follow instructions from supervisors or project managers regarding job assignments
- Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively
Skills:
- Mechanical knowledge and aptitude to operate and maintain equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Physical stamina to operate heavy machinery for extended periods of time
- Good communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
