Description Job Summary The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating various construction and industrial equipment to support site preparation, excavation, material handling, and infrastructure projects. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and efficiency in outdoor environments. Key Responsibilities · Operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, and skid steers at construction or industrial plant job sites with exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery. · Perform excavation, grading, trenching, and site preparation tasks · Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes · Conduct pre-operation inspections · Perform routine maintenance and report equipment issues · Follow all safety regulations and company policies · Coordinate with team members on-site · Maintain a clean and organized work area · May require overtime or weekend work. Requirements Qualifications · High school diploma or GED preferred · 2+ years of heavy equipment operation experience · Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required) · Knowledge of safety practices and equipment maintenance · Ability to read construction plans Skills · Attention to detail · Strong safety awareness · Mechanical aptitude · Teamwork and communication · Problem-solving ability Physical Requirements · Ability to operate equipment for extended periods · Lift up to 50 pounds · Work outdoors in various weather conditions · Good vision and depth perception ·
