JWK Utilities & Site Services Ltd. is a commercial electrical contractor based in Carp, Ontario, specializing in underground utility installations. We are currently seeking a skilled Backhoe/Shovel Operator to join our team for a full-time, year-round position. Our work primarily takes place within the City of Ottawa and surrounding areas.

ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT EXPERIENCE (ASSET, NOT REQUIRED):

• Directional Drill (HDD)
• Dump Trucks and Trailers (DZ / AZ License )

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
• WHMIS certification
• CSA-approved safety footwear
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Demonstrated attention to safety and detail on the job site

• Operate backhoes, shovels, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Complete daily safety and equipment inspections
• Perform routine maintenance and report issues to the mechanic
• Work closely with ground crews and assist with labour tasks as required
• Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors
• Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations on-site
