We are currently accepting applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator wanting to advance their construction career. The ideal candidate will be able to safely prepare and manipulate heavy equipment to ensure the appropriate movement of materials and liaise with coworkers to ensure that the projects are completed accurately.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines.
  • Capacity to provide and follow direction.
  • Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure.
  • Ability to work extended hours, as required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test. Pursuant to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Act 593, this position is a designated safety-sensitive position according to Redstone Construction Group standards & processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work environment is consistent of an office and facility with construction equipment inventory and repair/service shop and may also include construction job site.
  • Noise levels can be loud.
  • Safety training required; PPE required outside of office/parking lot area.
  • PPE must comply with site specific requirements.
  • Occasional lifting may be required up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time with frequent bending and stooping.

Responsibilities
  • Maneuvering motorized heavy equipment to ensure the accurate removal and placement of materials.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of wheeled loaders, excavators, backhoes, skid steers and other general construction equipment.
  • Loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials from heavy equipment.
  • Observing stipulated safety codes at all times.
  • Communicating with coworkers to elucidate project specifications, as needed.
  • Ability to understand and follow grade with skill and quality workmanship.
  • Advising the line manager of requisite upgrades, repairs, and replacements.
  • Aiding coworkers to ensure that the site is clean and organized at the end of each shift.
  • Providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
