The Lead Painter position is responsible for successfully, efficiently, and accurately preparing and painting all equipment and components required by the service and assembly departments. Qualifications The Lead Painter will fulfill the following duties: Preparing components, weldments, and equipment to be painted including occasional body work Painting of components, weldments, and heavy equipment Effectively complete each paint job in a timely, efficient, and professional manner Work and manage workloads independently Acts as a mentor for the Painter Apprentice Complete other duties as assigned Education and Experience A high school diploma and 5 years’ working experience in painting heavy equipment. Required requisites Strong attention to detail skills. Good communications skills Good, safe work habits. Specific skill requisites Experience painting a variety of surface types. Knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operation a plus but not required. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a Full-Time position. This position is expected to be in the shop Monday through Friday during standard working hours. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
